Welcome...

Welcome to my blog, everyone! I thought that the discussion was really interesting over on facebook, so I thought I'd create a forum to continue it, along with other interesting discussions. I'll try to post pretty frequently, though law school may get in the way of that...

Please note the rules to the right before you make a comment. Perhaps I should also add: unless I address a post or comment specifically to you, don't take it personally!!! I want to stir up thinking and questioning, not feuds. Also, please note that I reposted my last facebook note on the blog below so that we could continue here without further clogging up our friends' newsfeeds.

Thanks, and again, welcome!

You truly are a gadfly, Ryan. It's good to have a few of these. So long as they're respectful and intelligent. You sir are both, at least most of the time. Thanks for keeping us on our toes.

Ryan, I am delighted to comment on your blog. I came across a very interesting article this last week that I would like to share with you. It articulates for me a truth that I have been trying to communicate and that remained unformulated in the back of my mind in many discussions that we've had over the years. The brief article by John Maxwell Kerr is on the first page and is titled: Walking Through History Into The Future With Christ. I hope to hear your comments if time allows.

reformedmick, I am so sorry, but can you tell me who you are? Based on your handle, I would say that we have a lot in common and I can certainly believe that we have indeed had a lot of great discussions over the years. Please forgive me for not recognizing you!

Thanks for the article. It is rather insightful, and I will have to digest it a bit before I can comment.

God bless!

Looking at the Wolfowitz Doctrine, and the man it came from, it starts out as a very disturbing letter of policy. The novel "1984" shot to mind immediately when I glanced over the doctrine, and when I saw the term "Eurasia", it's dangerous to suppose that this doctrine is a manifesto of America's supremacy. As to what it is now, I can't say. It has the look of a document about preserving the safety of America's citizens, which is admirable, yes, but the original language suggests not the defense of innocence, but the exalting of elitism. I'm not sure what that has to do with the election(please fill me in), but I'm not crazy over it. And obviously, I'm going to weigh in about abortion. Ryan, you said it best, the grass-roots ministries and pro-life clinics and centers are the only real places that abortion is being dealt with. Neither party will seek to overturn Roe v. Wade, the only difference between the RP and the DP is that McCain and Palin have said abortion is wrong.Any real hope for change in abortion's front died when Mike Huckabee ended his campaign. He was the only candidate who would have done anything about abortion.

Ryan, you gave me the name reformedmick. Hint, I was the first person to hold you after you we're knit in your mother's womb!

Well, I'm not very intelligent, so there probably won't be much debate from me! But I do want to say hi and tell you and Fallon that I miss you :)

Zack I don't think Mike Huckabee has any place for discussion on here as he was the worst candidate running.
